SXC 2024: An Unforgettable Experience

I was fortunate enough to attend SXC 2024 (STHLM Xperience Conference), the premier conference for professionals in the UX/UI industry in Stockholm. It was an incredible opportunity to learn, network, and gain valuable insights from some of the most influential leaders in the field.

The conference kicked off with an inspiring keynote address from Jesse Showalter, who shared how to design for positive behavioral change: Cultivating mental well-being and kindness through design, his vision of how to make a better world with design. From there, I attended sessions on topics such as The Future of Business Design: Balancing Profit, People, and Planet and Designing AI with Humanity in Mind. The speakers were all experts in their respective fields, and their presentations were thought-provoking and informative.

In addition to the educational sessions, SXC 2024 also offered ample opportunities for networking. I met with professionals from all over Sweden, representing a diverse range of companies and organizations. It was fantastic to exchange ideas, share experiences, and build connections that will undoubtedly benefit my career in the long run.

Workshops Attended at SXC 2024

In addition to the educational sessions, I had the privilege of attending several workshops at SXC 2024 that provided hands-on learning experiences and allowed for deeper engagement with the conference content.

Workshop 1: Tech trend spotting and how to utilize these trends to achieve a better world

This workshop focused on that new trends come and go and the changes in society and the world affect us every day. Especially in technology, change happens fast. We learned about an approach to trend spots and how to utilize it in our companies.

Workshop 2: Sustainable User Journey Mapping

In this workshop we got practical and worked in small groups to practice sustainable user journey mapping. We brainstormed and sketched ideas to enhance sustainability in our projects. We then pitched the idea to the other groups to also train on pitching ideas.

Workshop 3: Networking and Envisioning Utopias: Design’s Role in Crafting a Better World

This workshop was so much fun. In this light-weight workshop we combined what our ideal world could look like with networking, we explored the possibilities of a brighter future. We shared our dreams, challenged assumptions, and co-create a vision for a world that sparks joy and inspires hope.

SXC 2024 was an incredible experience that exceeded my expectations. I left the conference feeling inspired, motivated, and eager to apply the knowledge and insights I gained to my professional endeavors. I am grateful for the opportunity to have participated in such an enriching event and look forward to attending SXC 2025.
